LEFT NEW ORLEANS THIS MORNING

'BOUT HALF PAST SEVEN

IT WAS ALL THAT I COULD DO TO STAY AWAKE

GUITAR ON MY SHOULDER I THINK I’M

HEADED FOR SOME HEAVEN

FORGOT TO PACK MY PLANS ALONG THE WAY

AND MAGNOLIA’S BRINGING BACK SOME OLD MEMORIES

THE WHISKEY ON MY BREATH HELPS DULL THE PAIN

AND I AIN’T BEEN LIVIN RIGHT, CAUSE EVERY STEP I TAKE

DRAGS ANOTHER TEAR ACROSS MY FACE

AND WAKES UP ANOTHER DREAM I HAVE MISPLACED

GOT A RIDE FROM GULFPORT

TOOK ME AL THE WAY TO MOBILE

SPENT THE NIGHT IN AN ALABAMA JAIL

MUST HAVE LOST MY WALLET

WHILE I WAS DRINKIN’ DOWN A GOOD MEAL

CAUSE I HAD TO SING SOME SONGS TO PAY MY BAIL

AND MAGNOLIA’S BRINGING BACK SOME OLD MEMORIES

THE WHISKEY ON MY BREATH HELPS DULL THE PAIN

AND I AIN’T BEEN LIVIN RIGHT, CAUSE EVERY STEP I TAKE

DRAGS ANOTHER TEAR ACROSS MY FACE

AND WAKES UP ANOTHER DREAM I HAVE MISPLACED

THE STRANGER’S ALL SEEM FACELESS

IN A BAR OUTSIDE ORLANDO

IN THE MIRROR BEHIND THE BOTTLES I LOOK THE SAME

SEARCHIN’ THROUGH MY WALLET

FOR SOMEONE TO TALK TO

I DON’T FEEL ALONE BUT I JUST DON’T KNOW THEIR NAMES

AND MAGNOLIA’S BRINGING BACK SOME OLD MEMORIES

THE WHISKEY ON MY BREATH HELPS DULL THE PAIN

AND I AIN’T BEEN LIVIN' RIGHT, 'CAUSE EVERY STEP I TAKE

DRAGS ANOTHER TEAR ACROSS MY FACE

AND WAKES UP ANOTHER DREAM I HAVE MISPLACED
