Kurt Harris

Artist, Musician and Songwriter

Hi, my name is Kurt Harris. I was born in Rome, New York, and attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, majoring in Advertising Design and Illustration. I am an artist who paints mainly in acrylics,  But, I also enjoy pen and ink, pencil sketching, photography and graphic art.

As well as being an artist, I spent years as a musician with various bands, and as a solo artist, performing on cruise ships for Costa and Dolphin Cruise Lines and touring the road circuit on buses and vans in almost every state in the USA.  I have played in Canada, Norway and throughout the Caribbean. My CD “Currents of the Wind” is a collection of my original music.  All the instruments on the CD are played by me, with the exception of “Magnolia Memories” which has my friend and former band mate Ben Lawson on steel guitar.

I moved to Sanford, Florida in 1983, where I worked as a musician, artist, songwriter, and as a manufacturing engineer for local electronic manufacturing companies.

Since being off the road, I have the opportunity to spend more time on my artwork and original music.

I had the honor of serving as the president of the Sanford Seminole Art Association for the 2013 – 2014 term, and again for the 2014 - 2015 term.

Some of my artwork can be seen at:
