AFTER ALL THIS TIME, YOU SAY YOU NEED TO SEE ME

I THOUGHT I HAD GOTTEN OVER YOU, BUT, HERE I GO AGAIN

NOW, I WON'T SLEEP TONIGHT, JUST STARE UP AT THE CEILING

AND THINK OF DAYS FORGOTTEN IN THE CURRENTS OF THE WIND

HEARD IT IN YOUR VOICE, THE LONELINESS THAT HAUNTS YOU

I RECOGNIZED THE EMPTINESS THAT ECHOES DEEP WITHIN

THE GRASPING AT THE PAST FOR SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO

SOMEONE TO GIVE YOU SHELTER FROM THE CURRENTS OF THE WIND

SOMETIMES TIMES IN THE NIGHT, I SEE YOU IN THE SHADOWS

I SEE YOU IN THE FACES OF THE PEOPLE ON THE STREET

WE REACH FOR DAYS GONE BY, FORGETTING THEY WERE FRAGILE

AND LEFT US DRIFTING HELPLESS IN THE CURRENTS OF THE WIND

IF YOU THINK YOU SEE AN OLD FRIEND IN THE NIGHTTIME

OR IF A SONG SHOULD CALL TO MIND A LIFE THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN

REMEMBER THAT OUR DREAMS WERE SHIPWRECKED ON THE SHORELINE

AND MAY BE BEST FORGOTTEN IN THE CURRENTS OF THE WIND

SOMETIMES IN THE NIGHT, YOU’LL SEE ME IN THE SHADOWS

YOU’LL SEE ME IN THE FACES OF THE PEOPLE ON THE STREET

WE REACH FOR DAYS GONE BY, FORGETTING THEY WERE FRAGILE

SO TRUST TO FATE AND SAIL INTO THE CURRENTS OF THE WIND
