Kurt Harris - Artist, Musician, And Songwriter
Born in Rome, New York, Kurt attended Rochester Institute of Technology, majoring in Advertising Design and Illustration. He has lived in Sanford, Florida since 1983, working as a musician, artist, songwriter and as a manufacturing engineer for local electronics manufacturing companies.
Kurt has played in bands since he was 14. With various bands and solo, he has worked in almost every state in the USA, in Canada, Norway and throughout the Caribbean . He has played on cruise ships for Costa and Dolphin Cruise Lines, and has toured the road circuit on buses and vans.
His CD “Currents of the Wind” is a collection of his original music. All the instruments on the CD are played by him, with the exception of “Magnolia Memories” which has his friend and former band mate Ben Lawson trading licks with him on steel guitar.
These days, Kurt likes to spend his time as an artist, painting in acrylics, oils, and watercolors; but, he also enjoys pen and ink, colored pencil sketching, photography, web design, and computer graphics. Some of his paintings and drawings are displayed on this web site.
